What is Diaper Need?

Diaper need is not having enough diapers to keep an infant or young child clean, dry, and healthy. Help ensure families receive essential resources by partnering with the Diaper Our City campaign.

400+ families receive diapers at Ready, Set, Go! each month.

What’s
Happening?

Windsor is an economically vibrant community, yet 1:8 residents live below the poverty line.

The need for diapers at Ready, Set, Go! has increased by 80%, and we are struggling to keep up with the demand.

Who is
Impacted?

Diaper need is a reality for hundreds of Windsor families, including:

  • Single parent families.
  • Minimum wage employees.
  • Those waiting for affordable housing.
  • Those with disabilities.
  • Those having to choose between rent, electricity, and food.
  • New Canadians.

How to
Help

It takes a Village to ensure there’s enough for everyone and no one is left behind.

Donate diapers, host a diaper drive, or donate funds. Your generous support will help make sure we’re prepared to meet the demand for diapers, wipes, and formula in 2024.

This is what diaper need feels like.

You can help end it.

How to Host a
Diaper Drive

  1. Sign up to host a diaper drive and choose your timeline. We recommend fundraising over 2 to 3 weeks.
  2. Decide where to host your diaper drive. Connect with your peers, family, co-workers, or others to collect diapers.
  3. Use our resources to promote your diaper drive. Do you need social media posts, images, speaking points, a letter of support for your organization? We’ve got you! If you need something custom, email programdeveloper@readysetgowindsor.org.
  4. Collect diaper boxes. 1, 10, 100…every box counts!
  5. Deliver your donation to any of these locations:

Sample Diaper Drives:

  • Places of work or offices.
  • Social or sports clubs.
  • Small groups.
  • Neighbourhoods and community organizations.
  • Places of worship.
  • Social media.

At Ready, Set, Go! we believe in creating a community where it becomes possible for a person to continue with a pregnancy and not just survive, but thrive. Parenting is hard enough. Parents shouldn’t have to worry that their babies will go without the most basic of needs.

Diapers are a crucial resource for families with babies and young children. Distributing diapers to low-resourced families helps reduce economic burden, reduces stress, and promotes infant and child well-being. The immediate needs of low-resourced families are being met through this program, while connecting these same families with other beneficial programs offered through the Centre.

We appreciate the desire to donate reusable cloth diapers. However, some people do not have reliable laundry services or capacity to launder reusable diapers. We are encouraging donations of disposable diapers.

Donate to End Diaper Need

Diaper need has increased 80% in Windsor. The cost of housing, inflation and other crises make it difficult for families to provide essential resources like food, rent, and diapers. Your donation helps ensure everyone has enough and that no one is left behind in 2024.

400+ families receive diapers at Ready, Set, Go! each month.

When practical needs are met, hope-filled futures can begin.

Your donation provides:

  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Formula
  • Bus Tickets
  • Women’s Sanitary Products
